5 Thousand farmers are getting free seeds and fertilizers in Bandarban district

Free seeds and fertilizers have been distributed among the small and marginalized communities under the incentive program to increase aaush planting and production in Kharif /-1/ 2022-23 season in FY 2021-22.

Minister for Chittagong Hill Tracts Bir Bahadur Ushwe Sing MP was present as the chief guest at the seed and fertilizer distribution function held at Bandarban Sadar Upazila Parishad auditorium on Saturday (April 16) morning.

Bandarban Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Sabrina Afrin Mustafa presided over the function.Sadar Upazila Parishad Chairman AKM Jahangir,BHDC Agriculture Convening Committee Member Kya Sa Pru Marma,Bandarban District Agriculture Extension Department Deputy Director Md. Rafiqul Islam,District Training Officer M,M,Shah Neyaz and others were present on the occasion.

 

The chief guest of the function Minister Bir Bahadur MP said that agriculture is closely linked with the life and livelihood of the people of Bangladesh.Economic development of this country is not possible without agriculture.In order to keep pace with the current population of the country,proper planning is essential for the overall development of the agricultural sector.As a part of her,The government under the able leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working relentlessly to take the agricultural sector of this country forward.

Beneficiary farmers of 5 unions of Bandarban Sadar Upazila were present at the event organized by Bandarban Sadar Upazila Agriculture Officer Md.Omar Faruque.

 

Agriculture Officer Md.Omar Faruque Said that 5 kg of Ufshi seeds,20 K of D.A.P and 10 kg of M.O.P fertilizer are being provided to 5,000 farmers in Bandarban district as an incentive to increase aaush cultivation and production.Five hundred farmers in Bandarban Sadar will get this assistance.

On the same occasion,30 farmers of Bandarban Sadar were given skewers for caring for citrus crops,budding knives and spray machines for grafting.
