On the occasion of Great Victory Day 2023 under the annual sports program 2023-24 prepared by the Directorate of Sports the auspicious inauguration of the volleyball competition held in bandarban.The competition started on Tuesday (December 12) in collaboration with the Bandarban Volleyball Players Association.
DSA General Secretary (Acting) Mujibur Rashid,Treasurer Mang sing Prue Naji, Executive Dilip Kumar Dey,Executive Member Nini Prue Marma,Women Sports Secretary Mayni prue and officials of the District Sports Office were present in the opening ceremony organized under the overall supervision by District Sports Officer Main Uddin Milki.
Executive member of District Sports Association Angcha mong Marma presided over the event.The guests at the opening ceremony said that the government is working to build a smart sports stadium.In this context,tournaments and competitions are being organized on various occasions including National Day.There is no alternative to sports to create a drug free society.
Four teams are participating in the competition organized on knockout basis.
Two games were held on the opening day.Nilachal team defeated Chimbuk team in the first game.In the second game Nilgiri team players beat Meghla team.
