Democracy is not safe in the hands of BNP: Quader

Awami League General Secretary and Minister for Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader has said that democracy in Bangladesh is safe only in the hands of Awami League. He said the independence, sovereignty and democracy of Bangladesh is safe only in the hands of Awami League. Because the Awami League under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is playing a leading role in the development and progress of democracy in the country.

In a statement on Sunday, he strongly condemned and protested the remarks of BNP leaders about the Awami League.

The bridge minister said the BNP was born in the background of dictatorship by killing the independence-sovereignty and democracy of this country. Democracy is never safe in their hands.

Awami League and democracy do not go together – Obaidul Quader said in his statement in response to the statement of the BNP Secretary General, the Awami League is the only political organization leading the country’s freedom, struggle and liberation war.

He said, “The more the fortunes of the people of this country have improved under the able rule of Sheikh Hasina, the more the Bangladesh leaders are moving towards the establishment of a developed and prosperous state.

Mentioning that the Awami League has taken all the positive efforts for the development and prosperity of the media in this country, Obaidul Quader further said in his statement that freedom of media for the BNP means playing a supportive role in implementing their conspiracy to seize power through dissemination of baseless and malicious information.
