

Minister for Chittagong Hill Tract Affairs Bir Bahadur Ushwe Sing (MP) Said that not even an inch of land in the hilly region would remain fallow.We have to be self-sufficient by relying on agriculture.
The minister said that to become economically self-sufficient,Saplings of various species of orchards and medicinal trees are being distributed among the hill land owners with government funds.This activity will continue.
Last Sunday (19 June) This was stated by Minister for Chittagong Hill Tract Affairs Bir Bahadur Ushwe Sing (MP) Said while addressing a discussion meeting on development of socio- economic condition of women in different upazilas of Bandarban Hill District and distribution of fruit saplings and agricultural machinery among the farmer’s cooperative societies of the district.
Considering the climate and climate of the hills,various agriculture based projects are being implemented here.Fruit forest medicine and Cow calves are being distributed among the farmers free of cost with the funding of Hill District Council and Chittagong Hill Tracts Development Board.So we have to ensure our own destiny by ensuring proper use of such aids.
Bandarban Hill District Council Chairman Kya Shai Hla presided over the function.Additional Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar Pal,Executive Magistrate Rajiv Kumar Biswas,District Council Member Kya Sa Pru Marma were present on the occasion as special guests.
District Council Member Mozammel Haque Bahadur,Ting Ting May,Deputy Director of District Agriculture Extension Department Md.Rafiqul Islam, Deputy Director of Balaghata Horticulture Center Dr.Shafayat Siddiqui,President of Bandarban Press Club Aminul Islam Bachchu,General Secretary Minarul Haque were Also present on the occasion.
Later,13 power tillers,25 cow calves,11 foot spray machines and saplings of forest-fruit and medicinal trees were distributed among the selected farmers and association leaders.
These items were distributed at a cost of Taka 42 lakh 31 thousand under the Agriculture and Farmers Development Program of Bandarban Hill District Council for the financial year 2021-22.
