For the first time in the country’s history, a sari made from the fibers of the banana tree has reached Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.Deputy Commissioner of Bandarban Yasmin Parvin Tibriji “Kalabati Saree” handed over to Prime Minister as a gift during a cabinet meeting held at the Prime Minister’s office on Monday (July 17).

At The Same Time,Deputy Commissioner of Bandarban Yachmin Parveen Tibriji handed over 3 sarees and 2 jewelery boxes made from banana fiber to the Prime Minister.This was confirmed in a notification sent by the Prime Minister’s Press Wing.At this time,Minister for Chittagong Hill Tract Affairs Bir Bahadur Ushwe Sing (MP) Was present.

Apart from this saree, a model of a special Machang house suitable for bus Hilly People in hilly areas,district brand calendar and brand book were also handed over to the Prime Minister by the Deputy Commissioner of Bandarban.It is to be noted that for the first time in the history of the country, weaver Radhavati Devi of Moulvibazar prepared this saree of Manipuri design from the fibers of the banana tree.The other sarees gifted to the Prime Minister were made by Anjali Devi and Dutta Singh.
