Karunamoy Chakma (60), headmaster of Maischari High School,was killed by a pickup van on his way to school in Maischari,Khagrachari.

The accident took place on Monday (November 14) in Nunchari area. The deceased was the head teacher of Karunamoy Chakma Maischari High School.He is the son of Jatindra Chakma of Maischari Gamaridala area.

It is known that while going from home to school in the morning, Karunamoy Chakma fell on the road after being hit by a pickup van coming from Mahalchari towards Khagrachari.Later the locals rescued him from there and took him to the hospital where he was swallowed and declared dead by the doctor in charge.

Khagrachari Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md.Ariful Islam confirmed the truth of the incident and said that the dead body was handed over to the family without an autopsy due to the request of the family of the deceased teacher.
