Bandarban Army Region Commander Brigadier General Golam Mahiuddin Ahmed said that the Bangladesh Army is working for the socio-economic development of all communities in the hilly regions.Bandarban Army Region has been with the people of Bandarban in the past as well. Such activities will continue in the future as well.

Brigadier General Golam Mahiuddin Ahmed SGP,NDC,AFWC,PSC,PHD said this while speaking as the chief guest at the event organized by Bandarban Army Region to distribute gift books,teaching aids and sewing machines to HSC and Honors students of various colleges in Bandarban.

At this time,he mentioned the various initiatives and support by the Army Region to keep the student’s education easy and uninterrupted and wished success to all the students present.It is known that books were distributed among 85 students of different colleges of Bandarban last Monday in the premises of Sena Region Ground.Also handed over ten thousand taka each to 3 people as financial grant for higher education.Also 3 sewing machines and 6 educational materials were distributed.

Bandarban Army Zone Commander Lt. Col. Mahmudul Hasan,PSC,69 Infantry Brigade Major Shaikh Uz Zaman (GSO-2 Int) was present on the occasion.Meanwhile, the college students are happy to receive gift books.Perents also welcomed such initiative of Bandarban Army Region. Parents say,our children’s books are damaged in the terrible floods.At that time, children’s education was about to stop due to lack of books.

But just then Bandarban Army Region set a humanitarian example by gifting books to hundreds of flood-affected students. Incidentally,Bandarban Army Zone is also conducting this educational aid distribution program among the students of 12 lower and higher secondary educational institutions under Bandarban Zone.2749 students are getting these educational aids.
