Baghmara market fire: The victims received humanitarian assistance from the Bandarban district administration

The Bandarban district administration on Tuesday (February 8) provided relief and financial assistance to the families of 12 shops and three houses damaged in the fire at Baghmara Market in Jamchhari union of Bandarban Sadar upazila.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) of Bandarban Mohammad Saiful Islam provided relief assistance to the victims on behalf of The Honorable Bandarban Deputy Commissioner Yasmin Parvin Tibrizi.

Local people’s representatives including Assistant Commissioner of District Administration and Executive Magistrate Md.Mamunur Rashid were present on the occasion.At that time,the district administration provided cash assistance of Rs 5,000 each and distribution of 30 kg of rice to each of the victims.

District Relief and Rehabilitation Officer and Executive Magistrate of the district administration Simon Sarkar said that the humanitarian assistance was provided on an urgent basis by the Hon’ble Deputy Commissioner.He Said Also,The district administration is conducting a comprehensive investigation into the victims and the Bandarban district administration is working on how to help them further.

It is to be mentioned that last Tuesday (February 8) at 3 o’clock in the morning,the fire started from the tea shop of Panchayan Das in Baghmara Market.After the locals informed the fire service,two teams of fire service from Bandarban Sadar and Roangchori upazilas went to the spot and brought the fire under control.
