Caritas as universal institution working for poor people: Minister Bir Bahadur

The Golden Jubilee of Caritas Bangladesh was celebrated in Bandarban with a colorful event on the occasion of 50 years of love and service.

On Saturday (October 22),A colorful procession Start from The Bandarban King’s Ground premises and ended at the Arun Saraki Town Hall after marching down the city’s main thoroughfare.

In the beginning,the national flag and the flag of Caritas Bangladesh were hoisted by the invited guests in the premises of Arun Saraki Town Hall along with the national anthem.

After Then,Minister for Chittagong Hill Tract Affairs Bir Bahadur Ushwe Sing (MP) Inaugurated the Golden Jubilee as the chief guest at the 50th anniversary ceremony of Caritas Bangladesh by blowing up balloons and lighting the Mars lamp.Deputy Commissioner Yasmin Parvin Tibriji,Additional Superintendent of Police Nazim Uddin,Caritas Bangladesh General Council member Rev.Father Leonard C. Riberu were present as special guests in the program organized by Caritas Chittagong region.

Caritas Bangladesh Chittagong Regional Director Rimi Subas Das,Executive Director Sebastian Rosario,Red Crescent Society Bandarban Unit Secretary Amal Kanti Das,Press Club President Aminul Islam Baccu were also present.

In the speech of the chief guest,Minister Bir Bahadur said that Caritas is working for the development of the country.He said that Caritas is working for poor people as a universal institution.He called on Caritas to play a greater role in the development of the poor people at the grassroots level.

He recalled the contribution of technical education to Caritas and stressed the importance of increasing the organization’s activities in the promotion of technical education.

Caritas Bangladesh Bandarban BTTC Principal Rakhal Das along with Caritas Bangladesh Chittagong region and different areas of Bandarban and Caritas officers and beneficiaries were also present in the event.
