We are proud to pay homage to this great heroic freedom fighter.Minister for Chittagong Hill Tract Affairs Bir Bahadur Ushwe Sing (MP) Said this while appearing as the chief guest at a function organized on the occasion of 90 th birth anniversary of heroic freedom fighter U.K Ching Bir Bikram.
Bir Bahadur said that the heroic freedom fighter U.K.Ching is not only a small ethnic group in the Chittagong Hill Tracts, but he is the only one among all the small ethnic groups in the whole country to have the title of Bir Vikram.This is a matter of great pride for the people of Bandarban.
He said that after the independence of the country,Henry Kissinger called Bangladesh a bottomless basket.He was Also Said Bangladesh is the land of fakirs and beggars.He even said at that time whether Bangladesh could keep its independence intact.Today the whole world is saying that Bangladesh is now a role model of development under the leadership of Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina. Today Bangladesh is a middle income country.Development is taking place in all fields.
This was stated by the Minister for Hill Tracts Bir Bahadur at a discussion meeting on the occasion of the 90″th Birth Anniversary of the Freedom Fighter UK Ching Bir Bikram-2022 under the Ministry of Culture’s Cultural Heritage Preservation and Birth Anniversary Celebration Policy-2021.
Minister for Chittagong Hill Tract Affairs Bir Bahadur Ushwe Sing (MP) was present as the chief guest at the function presided over by Bandarban Hill District Council Chairman Kya Shai Hla on Friday (June 17) afternoon.
Daw Thui Sa Nu Marma,wife of the heroic freedom fighter UK Ching Bir Bikram,was present as the guest of honor at the event held at the auditorium of Bandarban Minority Ethnic Cultural Institute.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Overall) Suraiya Akhter Sweety,Additional Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar Pal,District Council Member Laxmipad Das, Kya Sa Pru Marma,Ting Ting Mya were present on the occasion as special guests.
At the end of the program,The chief guest Bir Bahadur distributed prizes among the winners of the essay competition organized on several days including the Golden Jubilee of Independence.On the occasion,A check for a grant of one lakh rupees given by the district council was handed over to Thui Sa Nu Marma By Hill Minister.
