World Health Day was celebrated in Bandarban with the theme “Safe World and Safe Health”.A discussion meeting was held in the meeting room of the Civil Surgeon’s Office on Thursday (April 7) morning to mark the day.

Bandarban Hill District Council Chairman Kya Shoi Hla was present as the chief guest in the discussion meeting.Civil Surgeon Dr.Nihar Ranjan Nandy presided over the discussion.

During the program organized by Dr.Mohammad Alamgir (MO,DRS),District Training Officer of Agriculture Extension Department MM Shahnewaz, Bandarban Sadar Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr.Vanu Marma,RMO of Sadar Hospital Dr.Ziaul Haider,Senior Health and Education Officer Sa Sui Ching Marma, Representatives of various non-governmental organizations,doctors,Senior health workers and journalists from print and electronic media were present on the occasion.

Dr.Thoai Aung Ching (Disease Control) gave a PowerPoint presentation on the occasion of Health Day.

The chief guest Bandarban Hill District Council Chairman Kya Shoi Hla said that Bhdc has been providing all kinds of official assistance to the health department of Bandarban for a long time with utmost importance.

It is important to ensure that the public receives beautiful and safe medical care.Ensuring an orderly healthcare requires everyone working together.At the same time, he called upon the health department to keep the union level health care centers active with the aim of ensuring health services to the marginalized people.

Earlier in the morning, on the occasion of the day,A rally led by Civil Surgeon Dr.Nihar Ranjan Nandy started from the premises of Bandarban Sadar Hospital and ended at the Civil Surgeon’s Office premises.The rally was attended by senior officials of the health department,health department staff and general employees.
