The Regional Commander,Bandarban,who was present as the chief guest at the Humanitarian Aid Ceremony at Bandarban District Stadium on Thursday (March 3) morning.

He said the Bangladesh Army was by the side of all ethnic groups living in the Chittagong Hill Tracts in the past,is still there and will continue to be by their side in the future.

The Regional Commander also expressed his firm belief that the Bandarban Army Region would work tirelessly for the betterment of the living standards of the people of all nationalities and religions,including the small ethnic groups in the hilly areas,and for any need.

This was stated by the Region Commander, Bandarban during a program to provide humanitarian assistance to the poor, destitute and helpless people of Bandarban district under the supervision of Bandarban Army Region.

Bandarban Zone Commander and 5th Bengal Commander Lt. Col.Mahmudul Hasan PSC,Deputy Commander Major SM Mahmudul Hasan Sohag,PSC,Zonal Staff Officer Capt.Misbahul Islam Fouad and other Army officials of the region were present on the occasion.

Later,in the overall management of the 5th Bengal,humanitarian assistance was provided to a select group of marginalized people in response to the application for humanitarian assistance.

During this time, seven sewing machines,a wheelchair for the physically challenged,a rickshaw and five vans were distributed among the poor to earn a living.

A total of 64 people including house construction,medical treatment,operation, scholarships,daughter’s marriage,school and college admission and purchase of books,were given cash amount of Rs.5,65,000 thousand At this Time.

Humanitarian assistance of Rs 10 lakh was provided on this day under the supervision of Army Region.With this humanitarian assistance from the Army Region,A smile appeared on the faces of many people.
