The Minister for Chittagong Hill Tract Affairs Bir Bahadur Ushwe Sing (MP) has laid foundation stone and inaugurated various development works in Kuhalang Union of Bandarban Sadar Upazila.On Thursday (October 12) morning Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Ministry Minister Bir Bahadur Ushwe sing MP was present as the chief guest and inaugurated these development works at the premises of Kuhalang Union Parishad.
After inaugurating various works and laying the foundation stone,the Minister of Hills participated in a discussion and exchange of views with the local residents.During the chief guest’s speech at the exchange meeting, Minister Bir Bahadur said that the people are the source of all power.People also partners in development.It is my responsibility to make Kuhalong Union into a smart union in the future.Due to the welfare of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the tide of development is flowing in the three hill districts like the whole country.
Today,fertilizers and seeds are being delivered to people’s homes for free.
Sheikh Hasina’s government is giving old age allowance, widow allowance,VGF.No Any former government could do this.
So Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has no choice to continue this progress of development.Meanwhile,Minister Bir Bahadur said that in the past there were many MP-ministers,there were kings and kings but they had no role in the development of this Bandarban.Kuhalang UP Chairman Mongpu Marma presided over the function.
Chittagong Hill Tracts Development Board Chairman Supradip Chakma,District Administration Senior Assistant Commissioner Arup Ratan Singha, Additional Police Superintendent Md.Shah Alam,District Council Executive Engineer Md.Ziaur Rahman,Local Government Engineering Directorate (LGED) Executive Engineer Md.Ziaul Islam Majumdar,Abu Bin Yasir Arafat,executive engineer of the Development Board (Bandarban Unit) and the related people were present at the time.
Bandarban hill District Council,LGED and Chittagong hill tracts Development Board are implementing these development works at a cost of about 17 crore 81 lakh Tk. At the end of the exchange meeting Minister Bir Bahadur distributed sewing machines among the local women and spray machines among the farmers.
