Sports Have Won in Bandarban through Martyr Sheikh Kamal Kabaddi Competition: Minister Bir Bahadur

Martyr Sheikh Kamal is a legendary sports organizer in Bangladesh sports arena.Sheikh Kamal’s contribution to advance the sports of this country will remain immortal in the sports history of Bangladesh.Bandarban sports got its biggest win today with Shaheed Sheikh Kamal Kabaddi Tournament.

Minister for Chittagong Hill Tract Affairs Bir Bahadur Ushwe Sing (MP) Said these words while speaking as the chief guest at the final game and prize distribution ceremony of the Kabaddi tournament on the occasion of the 73rd birth anniversary celebration of martyred freedom fighter Captain Sheikh Kamal.

The minister said,Because of sports, the youth can be kept safe from the aggression of drugs.So thanks to all concerned for organizing such a competition.

In the President’s speech,Deputy Commissioner Yasmin Parvin Tibriji said,I would like to thank all those who have cooperated with the Bandarban district administration and district sports organization to make the tournament a success.Also,Congratulations to both the champion and runner-up teams for their impressive display of sportsmanship.

Bandarban Collectorate School and College won the champions trophy by defeating Balaghata Bilkis Begum High School by nine points (59-50) in the final game played at the traditional Rajar Ground premises on Sunday (August 7).

Local Government Department Deputy Director Md. Lutfur Rahman,Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Md. Saiful Islam, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Suraiya Akhtar Sweety,Additional Superintendent of Police Reza Sarwar, Executive Magistrate Sheikh Abdullah Al Mamun,District Sports Officer Main Uddin Milki,Municipal Awami League President Amal Kanti Das,Municipal Panel Mayor Saurabh Das Shekhar were present on the occasion.

On this day,Minister Bir Bahadur announced a donation of one lakh Tk to the tournament organizing committee from his own funds.Apart from this,Minister Also Handed the champion team was given 10,000 Taka and 7,000 Taka as prize money to the runner-up team.

It is to be noted that on the occasion of the 73rd birth anniversary of the brave freedom fighter Shaheed Sheikh Kamal, Kabaddi Competition-22 was organized by Bandarban District Administration and District Sports Association.8 teams participated in the tournament held with the overall support of Bandarban District Sports Office.
