The closing ceremony of National Tree Planting Campaign and Forest, Herbal and Fruit Tree Fair-2022 has been held in Bandarban.

Bandarban Deputy Commissioner Yasmin Parvin Tibriji was present as the chief guest on the occasion.Divisional Forest Officer Haque Mahbub Morshed presided over the function.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (Overall) Suraiya Akhter Sweety,Additional Superintendent of Police Md.Nazim Uddin, Divisional Forest Officer of Pulpwood Plantation Department Mahmudul Hasan, Deputy Director of Agriculture Extension Department Md.Rafiqul Islam were present as special guests at the closing ceremony.

Speaking as the chief guest, Deputy Commissioner Yasmin Parvin Tibriji said everyone needs to plant more forest, fruit and medicinal plants to tackle the effects of global climate change, increase family income and meet nutritional needs.

At the beginning of the ceremony, the deputy commissioner released four rescued wild tia into free nature.Officials of various departments of district administration and district level were present at the closing ceremony.

It may be mentioned that this week’s fair was jointly organized by Bandarban Hill District Administration, Forest Department and Department of Agricultural Extension.
Different species of saplings were displayed in 46 stalls at the fair.
